Golf; Winter sports; In the mountains
In Rokytnice, main attractions are the St. Michael's Church and the beautiful city hall dating back to 1902. The Dolní náměstí (the lower square) is not the only lively center here. Also the Horní náměstí (the upper square), which is about 1 km away, is dotted with shops, restaurants and other service venues. Near Rokytnice lies the old mountain house of Dvoračky and the River Huťský which ends with the 50 m Hute waterfall. In the Giant Mountains there is a 40km long path called "Krkonoše Magistrale", crossing over the entire length of the mountain. There is a dense network of hiking trails that run along almost all of the resorts. It is advisable to take your passport with you during your walks, as you may end up crossing over the border with Poland. You will see beautiful wooden houses on your way, painted in bright colors, some of them decorated with beautiful carvings. Harrachov (16 km), a resort town of great importance, has a glass museum, a historic cable car, and numerous sports opportunities. Nearby, there is a waterfall in the Mumlava (Mumlavský vodopad). If you go to Spindleruv Mlyn (40 km), drive along the river Labe (Elbe). Spindleruv Mlyn is undisputedly the top ski center around here. A special attraction is the 7 km long toboggan. In the town of Vrchlabí (the High Elbe; 26 km) you can see beautiful traditional wooden houses and a baroque castle with 4 towers (corresponding to the seasons of the year), 52 rooms (the weeks of the year) and 365 windows (for the days of the year). In Vrchlabi there is also a zoo. The city of Liberec (45km) has some beautiful 17th century wooden houses, the St. Antonius church and the town hall, for the building of which the town hall in Vienna served as an example. In the center of Rokytnice there are several restaurants that will give you the chance to end your pleasant day with a delicious, inexpensive meal.
