Golf; Winter sports; In the mountains
The main places of interest in Rokytnice are St. Micheals church and the beautiful city hall. Both Dolní náměstí (the lower square) and Horní náměstí (the upper square) are very lively because of all the shops, restaurants and other facilities. Near Rokytnice lies the old mountain house of Dvoračky and also the the Huťsky River, with waterfalls of 50 meters. There is a dense network of trails that meander past almost all of the holiday areas. Across the summits of the Giant Mountains there is a 40km long tourist road called "Krkonoše magistrále". You can see beautiful taverns built of wood painted in bright colors, some of which are enriched with nice carvings. The museum of Paseky (11km) is dedicated to wooden musical instruments and the Giant Mountains. In Vysoke nad Jizerou (11km) there is a museum dedicated to the first ski club of Middle Europe. The holiday resort of Harrachov (16km) has a glass museum, a historic cable car, numerous sports facilities and the nearby Mumlavský vodopad falls. You can drive along the Labe (Elbe) River to Spindlerův Mlýn (40km). There you'll find a a special attraction, the 4km long summer toboggan slide. In Vrchlabí (26km) you can see beautiful traditional wooden houses and a baroque castle. There is also a zoo here. The city of Liberec (45km) has some beautiful 17th century wooden houses, the St Antonius church and a town hall for which Vienna’s town hall served as an example. Only 600m from the house you can find various restaurants where you can end the day with a good and fair priced meal.
