Dwingeloo is a hospitable little village with a very special and beautiful atmosphere - the shady village centre where you can enjoy the sight of several beautiful farms and old renovated houses. The “Siepel”, a unique tower of the Dutch Protestant Church is characteristic of Dwingeloo. The "Siepel" is visible from afar. You will also find “Planetron” in Dwingeloo. This is a very special place with a projection screen of 350 m2. It is definitely worth a visit. The surroundings here demand exploration. It is a fantastic well-cared for landscape with wonderful opportunities for walking, cycling and horseback riding. Enjoy the varied nature of the “Dwingelderveld”, a national park characterized by woods, heaths and fens. This is Europe’s largest wet heathland area and you are sure to find plenty of unusual plants and animals here. “Dwingelderveld” is freely accessible and there are also paths for disabled persons. There is a rental service for bikes, horses and even covered wagons so you can take nice trips. And you cannot help but see Dwingeloo’s world famous radio telescope on one of those trips.
