Romantic; Among nature
In the near and wide circumference of Rajka you will find forests and water, art and culture, centuries-old farms and houses dating from the former communist period. The area provides a wonderful mix of old and outdated periods that are reminiscent of Europe 50 years ago. The region consists of rolling landscapes with charming medieval towns and proud castles overlooking the meandering Vltava River. In the spring the fields and hills are filled with the yellows, whites and pinks of apple blossoms while in summer corn and various fruits mature. In autumn the deer come to the fields to forage. Only 8 km away you will find the 9-hole golf course of Český Krumlov. Also 8 km away you have the opportunity for horseback riding through the wilderness. The medieval town of Český Krumlov (11 km) is part of UNESCO's World Heritage list. The whole town is a historical monument. There is culture here as well: the Egon Schiele Art Center and the annual international music festival. České Budějovice (20 km) is the great provincial capital and offers plenty of shopping and entertainment opportunities. This town is the birthplace of the famous Budweiser beer. Other well-preserved towns include Rožmberk (37 km) and Hluboká (29 km). The Cistercian monastery of Zlatá Koruna, which dates from 1263 (6.5 km), and Vyšší Brod from 1259 (38 km), are also worth a visit. Nature offers water sports and hiking opportunities in the nearby Šumava National Park, along Lake Lipno (34 km) or Lake Greenway (around Třeboň). All in all, this is an exciting environment where you will never be bored!
