You can explore the natural beauty of this area by bike, mountain bike or on foot. But cities like Geneva (50 km) and Annecy, with its old downtown and famous St. Claude Lake, are quite spectacular as well. In addition, there are more than sufficient opportunities for an active or sports holiday. For example, you can enjoy golf, horseback riding, a summer luge, tree-climbing routes, mountain climbing, canoeing and parapets. In the surrounding area you will find an old fortress which is open to the public and from where you can visit underground passages or take a special guided tour. Beneath the earth, you can visit the caves of Cerdon where visitors are transported by train. A tip for a nice day: the waterfalls of Hérisson. At the reception area you can book auto-, GPS-, hiking-, cycling- and mountain biking tours. La Valserine is part of a vast Alpine ski area whose nearest ski lifts are located just 400 meters away. This ski area lies at an altitude of between 900 and 1,670 meters and is characterized by wooded areas. It has a network of 50 km of ski slopes. In the immediate vicinity there are 80 snow cannons, 30 lifts and a snow park. In total there are: 14 green, 11 blue, 10 red and 4 black slopes. A ski resort in the neighborhood (1000 - 1550 meters) has 20 km of ski trails and 11 lifts. This ski area is located 5 km away and has a network of 140 km of cross-country trails. La Valserine is about 850 km from Utrecht and 50 km from Geneva, near Switzerland.
