Zoover Award Winner 2010! This villa has a beautiful, sunny location on a small hill and is fully equipped. Everything has been thought of. So you have WIFI in the whole house and part of the garden. There are several terraces (also covered), one with fireplace / barbecue. Around the pool is a lot of grass and also sun beds. Fruit trees give you the opportunity to pick and squeeze your own oranges in the right season. Nice places in the area to visit are: Leiria, with its medieval castle Castelo de Leiria and everywhere in the city you will find historical testimonies of the faith that interrupt the cityscape very well, as well as the Cathedral Se. If you continue in the southern direction, a road past orchards, you will enter Batalha. On the way, the monastery, Mosteiro de Santa Maria da Vitoria, already pops up. Something northeast of Batalha lies Fatima, the pilgrimage site. A little bit more to the east is the peaceful town of Tomar. Each stone bears witness to a large number of historical events. A place that is worth a walk through so you can see all the beautiful facades of houses, churches and other buildings. Slightly south, on the coast, is the picturesque Nazare. In this typical Portuguese fishing village time has stood still. Because there is no port, the fishermen still pull the ships with the help of oxen onto the beach. Many women also do the laundry in the river. In the evening when the fishermen return there is a pleasant crowd here. The fish is dried on wooden shelves on the beach. Other attractions are the Largo do Seminario, the Largo Central and the Portas do Sol. The nineteenth century gardens with the beautiful Belvédère from where one overlooks the Tagus. You have a beautiful view of the city from the Tower das Cabacas. This tower is called Torre do Relogio, which means as much as watch tower. The view from here on the whole of beautiful windows, campaniles and azulejos is really overwhelming. The airport is 45 km away, the coast 65 km, supermarket 1 km, golf course 15 km and Lisbon 50 km.
Foros de Salvaterra is a town in the Portuguese municipality of Salvaterra de Magos and has 4017 inhabitants. Salvaterra is a small traditional village located 45 km northeast of the heart of Portugal, Lisbon. A village where you go back in time, where most of them still go hand-made and where one is always cordial. Salvaterra has a beautiful, untouched nature and plenty of golf opportunities in the vicinity. Portugal has belonged to the Islamic civilization for centuries and that is still to be seen today. From the Moorish occupiers, the Portuguese have inherited their great love for Azulejos (glazed tiles). Typical Portuguese is also the Manueline architecture, a 16th century building style that is characterized by rich - even inadequate - decoration. Traveling through Portugal is traveling through time. But the monuments are not the only witnesses from the past. In rural areas it sometimes seems as if time has stood still. The donkey has not been dismissed as a means of transport. What is less known about Portugal is that it offers fantastic wines and food. The many regional traditional specialties are worth discovering for a gastronome par excellence. The centuries-old dances and songs, of which Portuguese folklore is so rich, are honored during the numerous folk festivals. In short, a country of great diversity that requires you to be discovered by you. Lisbon, the capital of Portugal, is located on the right bank of the Tagus in the Estremadura region. This bustling, romantic capital is 45 km from Salvaterra and is characterized by a lot of history and beautiful views. The best place to meet Lisboa, as the Portuguese calls its capital, is the terrace at the top of the statue of Christ, on the southern bank of the Tagus. From above you will see an endless series of squares, quays, and buildings as well as the well-known Monument of the Discoveries and Torre de Belem. A typical delicacy is the Pastel de Belém. These are small patties, which were invented by monks a century and a half ago. These patties feature a creamy filling and are sprinkled with cinnamon and icing sugar and are accompanied by a local Muscatel wine. A walk through the charming district Alfama is a must. This working-class district is located on the eastern side of the center of Lisbon, diagonally up against the São Jorge hill. This is a labyrinth of narrow, winding streets, gates and stairs. Colorful facades with fur, waving laundry and numerous flower pots make the neighborhood an idyllic whole. There are no fancy shops here, but street selling fish, small alleys and hidden 'secret' courtyards. You will also find the typical Portuguese fado houses here. These are small restaurants where traditional fadoten are played. At the top of the hill, at Castelo de São Jorge, you will find a romantic spot with unforgettable views. In the courtyard of the ruin is a quiet, shady park with some fountains. The view over the city is more than worth the climb to the castle.
