Winter sports; In the mountains; Among nature
Malá Úpa is one of a few traditional villages in the Giant Mountains which have been preserved in its original state. Typical highland cottages, fresh meadows and pastures, rich forests, fresh mountain air and crystal clear water lure visitors of all ages who come here seeking a peaceful vacation in the beautiful natural environment of Malá Úpa, located just a few steps from the highest point in the Czech Republic – Sněžka.
The location of Malá Úpa, on a ridge of the Giant Mountains, offers plenty of opportunity for interesting hiking and sightseeing trips, mainly to Sněžka. Those who are not caught up by the virgin nature of the Czech side of the Giant Mountains can head for the yet undiscovered Polish hiking trails.
Malá Úpa is not only a place-to-be for hikers, but is also a paradise for cyclists. Thanks to its altitude, you can enjoy wonderful crest-crossing journeys with delightful views of Sněžka. You can also take a special bus (‘cyklobus’) to Harachov and return on either the Czech or Polish side of the Giant Mountains, where there is a surprisingly dense network of cycling trails.
Furthermore, you will find a lot of restaurants and grocery stores in the area as well.
