You can also take a cable car up to the top of the highest mountain in the area from where you have a magnificent view of the Giant Mountains. You can enjoy hiking and mountain biking in the entire region. The routes are clearly marked. Hiking and cycling maps can be purchased at the Tourist Office in Trutnov. In the house there are two mountain bikes that you can use. There is also a bike rental service in Trutnov. In Janské Lázně there is a spa. You can also take a gondola up to the Cerna Hora. From here you can walk back or go down in an adventurous way in just one step. From this location there are also many spectacular activities. Kuks Castle is situated on the shore of the Labe (Elbe) River. It is a beautiful baroque castle dating from the 16th century with famous statues and an old pharmacy. There are guided tours in English and German on a regular basis. Adršpach is just 20 km away, and has breathtaking nature with huge limestone rock formations. These rocks are also called rock cities. These rock formations were discovered years ago as a result of a forest fire. You can walk through rocks, swamps and forests. A boat trip on a lake is also possible. In short, there is plenty to do for everyone.
