Holiday Park; Among nature
The village is located in the Cantal department on the border between the Puy de Dome, the Corrèze and the Cantal, near the village of "Bort-les-Orgues" and lies at the foot of an ancient volcano. The region is rich in natural heritage, with its plateaus, peaks, several lakes and forests. Cantal offers a very wide range of opportunities to relax like the old Plateau L'Artense, the Cézallier massif, the Regional Park Volcans d'Auvergne and the Romanesque church with its many remarkable Cheylade icon paintings on the ceiling. Also worth visiting are the "Georges Pompidou" museum in Montboudif (where he was born) and the Orthodox monastery in Marcenat. Also not to forget; Vulcania (the European Park of volcanism) in Saint-Ours-les-Roches at around 80km away, a walk around Puy de Dome through a fantastic route (9km) or to the top of the Puy de Dôme (top at 1465 m) from where you can view the area from all angles. This is the land of extinct volcanoes, but also the origin of the Dordogne River. Nature hides many surprises here as the reservoir and dam Bort-les-Orgues, the gorges of the Dordogne, the Auvergne crater, the plateau of Arten and much more. Also regarding watersports you have a wide choice: In Bort-les-Orgues you can enjoy water skiing, sailing, windsurfing, catamaran sailing, canoeing, kayaking and fishing. But there are many other sporting activities in the area such as mountain climbing, canyoning, horse riding, etc.
