The nationally recognized climatic health resort and winter sports center Clausthal-Zellerfeld is a mountain town in the district of Goslar in Lower Saxony. It lies in the Upper Harz at an altitude between 535 m and 600 m. Lots of free-time activities and culture are to be found here. While university life and economic activity are concentrated in the Clausthal part of the town, Zellerfeld offers many establishments: the Upper Harz Miner's Market, Upper Harz Mining Museum, the Tüpke-Altar of the St. Salvatoris Church and much more. Attraction of the Clausthal part of town is the “Holly Spirit” Market Church, the biggest wooden church of Germany with it's distinctive towers.
