The Île de Noirmoutier is an island off the Vendée coast of western France. The island is most notable for its "Passage du Gois", a 4.5 kilometer paved-over sandbank that connects the island to the mainland. Every year, a foot race – the Foulées du Gois – is held across it, starting at the onset of high tide. During your holiday in Vendée, enjoy the beautiful countryside where nature is protected. Roam around the island at your own pace, on foot or by bicycle. Discover all the island's best-kept secrets. To really discover the island one must wriggle along paths weather-beaten by salty winds, traverse scented woods, or venture further to the roads of the polders. Shops and services are located 5 km from the resort. Larger towns: Nantes (80 km) and La Roche-sur-Yon (81 km). Captured Networks: Orange, Bouygues, SFR.
