Among nature; On an island; Near water
Prigradica is a lovely tourist village where you can relax in comfort and enjoy a peaceful rest. A large waterfront with a breakwater dominates the bay. Entertainment and sports facilities include rocky and pebble beaches, restaurants, cafes, bars, soccer fields, basketball courts and beach volleyball. Since Korcula is a forested and mountainous island, Prigradica makes an excellent starting point for trekking and bicycle tours around the island. The surrounding villages, untouched for centuries, provide a unique opportunity to return to the past.
Blato is situated on the main road, in the middle of the island. It is surrounded by fertile fields and a rich woodland. Several early Christian churches were built in and around Blato. The field of Zlinje, with one of the most beautiful elm tree alleys in this part of the Mediterranean, divides the north and south parts of Blato. Blato will satisfy every gourmet's taste with its delicious dishes and fine wines.
Vela Luka is a town and port located on the western side of the island of Korcula. The majority of the town is spread over the slopes and mildly descending plateau above. The biggest town on the island provides visitors with all the advantages of modern tourism including a variety of restaurants offering seafood and fine wines, sports and recreational facilities (tennis, yachting, surfing, etc.) and plenty of entertainment.
The best known town on the island is Korčula, which lies on the northeastern coast. It is situated on a small peninsula which is connected to the island by a narrow isthmus. Especially interesting here are the water sports, organized excursions, and a rich cultural life with lots of entertainment programs. The most important cultural event is the traditional chivalrous game called "Moreška". It has been performed in Korcula since the 15th century and is of Spanish origin. Many visitors come here by yacht.
