In the mountains; Among nature; On an island
San Giuseppe Jato lies in the northern-northwestern foothills of Mount Jato, about 403 meters above sea level, and is delineated, at its highest point, by a fertile and verdant valley.
Here you have a magnificent view of the wide fertile landscape, consisting of many former estates belonging to the territory of Monreale, partly along its plains and partly on the hillsides covered by lush vineyards and intersected by the Jato river valley, and then on the far horizon, of the villages of Alcamo, Castellammare del Golfo and even, on a clear day, Salemi. The farmhouse is itself a part of the local cultural fiber, promoting shows, exhibitions, conferences and tastings of the typical products of the Jato Valley.
Guests of Agriturismo Masseria La Chiusa will be protagonists of a personal and distinctive concept of relaxation, enjoying the rediscovery of nature and the amenities of these places.
For those who would like to alternate relaxation with excursions, the combination of culture and nature finds a good synthesis in the archaeological park and nature trails. The Archaeological Park (visit: the Agora, the peristyle house and the theater) is in a Phoenician settlement, which is part of a housing complex dating back to the pre-Hellenic age, situated on high ground. It was also inhabited during the Greek and Roman periods and was still active as late as the Middle Ages. The historical-naturalistic trails which comprise a network of 21 different paths, all carefully marked by the WWF guides and maps, offer trekkers and nature lovers a fascinating opportunity to learn about as well as plunge themselves into an unspoiled Sicily, rich in environmental and rural testimonies of great interest.
