natural white monolith rising to a height of 25 meters at the tip of the city shoreline: according to the myth, Pizzomunno was a young man turned to stone by the sirens, jealous of his love for the beautiful Cristalda.
The sea caves
Among the major karstic phenomenons of the Apulian coast, there are the caves, carved from thousands of years of rainwater and the corrosive activity of the sea. The picturesque scenery of the caves, potholes, sinkholes and cliffs is turned into something magical by the light reflecting off the stalactites, stalagmites and ravines.
Archipelago of the Tremiti Islands

This archipelago, inhabited since the Neolithic era, has been a marine nature reserve since 1989 and is a part of the Gargano National Park because of the extraordinary presence of underwater fauna and flora. The importance of the Tremiti Islands wildlife is also underlined by a significant concentration of migratory birds, including the Eleonora falcon, Peregrine falcon and the only Adriatic colony of Cory's Shearwater and Shearwater.
