Wellness; In the countryside; Among nature
BACCO IN THE TUNES (Bitonto):
Between August 1st and 4th Cathedral Square is home to the XII edition of the Beat Onto Jazz Festival. In the shadow of the Cathedral, in the tune of jazz, the "Vieni a Bitonto" association offers wine tastings and free guided tours.
A day in Bitonto:
"Bacco nelle Corti" is back in Bitonto. It's an evening tour of the historic center where you can discover the beauty of the city and the delights of its gastronomy. From July to September, every Thursday, there will be a guided tour combined with a wine tasting. The tour is suspended during two weeks in August.
CASTEL DEL MONTE (ANDRIA):
Due to its form and purpose, Castel del Monte differs significantly from the other castles in Puglia. The shape of the octagon, on which the entire building is structured, on the one hand represent a rigorous architectural design schema and on the other hand recalls (probably) symbolic features, that make the visit even more interesting.
Since 1996, Castel del Monte has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site.
Alberobello is a beautiful village located 50 km to the south of Bari. Known worldwide for its famous "trulli". A Unesco World Heritage Site, Alberobello is definitely worth a visit.
The Monti district:
This area, known as the monumental area, consists of a district of trulli houses. A tour of this area, with its various lanes, local shops and museums, is certainly worthwhile.
The Trullo Sovrano:
Built in the XVIII century, probably for tourist purposes, it is the biggest trullo, the only one which has a second floor. Little jazz concerts, classical music and folk events often take place here. It houses a characteristic museum in its interior.
