Take the train from the station at nearby Flaçà and you can quickly be in the center of one of the most exciting cities in Europe: Barcelona! The town of Figueres was the birthplace of Salvador Dali and is now home to his incredible museum. Figueres can easily be reached by car. Other places of interest include the old market town of La Bisbal, famous for its ceramics; the ancient remains at Empuries; the botanical gardens at Cap Roig; the monastery of Montserrat; the lovely old Gothic center of Girona; and the old harbor town of Saint Feliu with its medieval monastery.
The 3.5-kilometer-long beach of Pals is ideal for water sports but you also have the chance to play other sports here including golf and tennis.
