The Donovaly tourist resort and its surrounding area offers all the ingredients for a relaxing, sporting and cultural holiday. Whether you come with family or friends, you will be able to make your dream vacation come true year round. The main attraction of the village is its fun arena (in summer) and snow park (in winter). Both offer lots of fun, adrenaline and chance for discovery. You can take the Télémix (cable car) to the peak of Nová Hoľa where you can enjoy panoramic views of the Low Tatras and Greater Fatra. From here you can try paragliding or get a bird's eye view of the beautiful surroundings, both sure to be an unforgettable experience. Other attractions include: the 900-meter-long toboggan bobsled run with 7 jumps, 11 turns and speeds of 45 km/h; and a rope center with a 500-meter-long obstacle course (2 meters high) with 6 circuits and 2 rope descents, a 14-meter-high climbing wall (the highest in Slovakia), 8 trampolines and a bungee trampoline. You can enjoy walking and cycling among the beautiful nature. Choose from a number of marked trails of varying lengths and difficulty that offer views of the scenic mountains and picturesque villages. Water sports enthusiasts can visit the Bešeňová thermal water park (35 km) with 8 outdoor swimming pools, indoor pools, toboggans, whirlpool, children's pool and extensive spa and wellness facilities. The average temperature of the water is 26-39 degrees. There is another thermal bath in Kováčová (41 km) and an outdoor pool in Banská Bystrica. Slovakia is rich in traditional culture. This can be seen practically everywhere. For example, in the striking mountain village of Vlkolínec, the only village in Slovakia which has remained completely intact, without the influence of modern buildings. It's well worth visiting. This village has 40 original wooden houses and is on UNESCO's World Heritage list. You should also not miss the following: Špania Dolina, a beautiful medieval mining village with a mining water supply - a unique remnant from a medieval aqueduct; the Harmanecká jaskyna cave; and the railway between Banská Bystrica and Horna Štubna with 29 tunnels and diverse views of the valleys of the Greater Fatra. The fun arena turns into the snow park ski arena in winter. Here you have at your disposal 11 km of ski runs of all difficulty levels, 15 lifts and a chairlift. There is even a ski school for children and beginners. There are facilities also for fans of snowboarding, free-ride and acrobatic skiing. Just come and enjoy!
