The town of Sirmione was built around the imposing castle of Rocca Scaligera. The historical center is located in the middle of the peninsula. On the tip of the peninsula you will find the ruins of a Roman villa known as "Grotte di Catullo". These ruins are one of the most beautiful and majestic sights in all of northern Italy. You also have a fantastic view from here. The town of Sirmione has a small harbor where you will find many colorful fishing boats which can take you for a trip on the lake. There are also plenty of opportunities to go for a walk in this beautiful environment. Of course there are trips to Brescia, Verona, Mantova, Venezia and Milano.
