In the City; On an island; Near water
Milazzo is located in the province of Messina, on the northern part of the Sicilian coast.
Nowadays, it is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Sicily, and makes a convenient base from where you can reach other important holiday destinations: the Aeolian Islands, Tindari and Nebrodi Park.
The Aeolian archipelago:
Consists of the islands of Alicudi, Filicudi, Lipari, Panarea, Salina, Stromboli and Vulcano, which are called, "the seven pearls of the Mediterranean", due to their beauty.
Two of the islands, Stromboli and Vulcano, are still active volcanoes. In 2000 UNESCO awarded the archipelago its World Heritage nomination.
The hotel organizes mini-cruises to the Aeolian Islands. For more information please contact the reception desk of the hotel.
What to see in Milazzo:
This citadel covers an area of 7 hectares and is the most important monument of the city, listed as a National Heritage site by the European Union. The promontory where the castle rises dominates the city of Milazzo and offers one of the most beautiful panoramic views in the entire region: from here you can also admire the Aeolian islands.
Don't miss the St. Francis of Paola Sanctuary, a church built by the Saint himself in the year 400, but totally renovated in the eighteen century.
