At the beach; Special; Among nature
Visit the several fantastic beaches like Grote and Kleine Knip, Lagun and Jeremi for snorkeling, swimming or diving. Your accommodation is an ideal base for trips to the Kunuku (=countryside). Near the village of Barber you can admire authentic adobe houses like Kas di Pal’i Maishi. After a 5 minute drive you can visit the former Kenepa plantation, now called the Tula Museum. National hero Tula, was the slave who got killed during a revolution. Underground cave Boca Tabla and the Christoffelpark are a must see for nature enthusiasts. There are several good restaurants in the vicinity, where you can be adventurous and try the local specialties. Tropical restaurant Rancho El Sobrino is located on three driving minutes. Specialties like fish soup, goat stew and “funchi”, (the delicious local cornmeal dish) are served with a smile. This “sister” property also features an in-house dive school and filling station for your convenience. A side trip to historical Willemstad with its splendid architecture and bustling central market is certainly worthwhile.
