The Dalaman / Akkaya region and the Secret Valley Dalaman is situated on the southwest Lycian coast of the turkish Mediterranean.
With its 5,000 year old culture Lycia is a region where the original Turkey can still be discovered.
Dalaman, Dalyan, Fethiye, Kalkan, Kas and Sarigerme are the places worth a visit on the Lycian coast. The Greek island of Rhodes is located only a few kilometers off the coast. Dalaman has about 22,000 inhabitants and the International Dalaman Airport is only a few kilometers away from the city and from May to October is served directly by all major German airports several times a week.
Thanks to its optimal climatic conditions and the cheap prices, this beautiful part of Turkey has seen an enormous, prosperous development in the recent years. Many German, Dutch and British tourists and real estate enthusiasts live year-round in Dalaman, Ortaca, Dalyan, Gocek or Fethye.
Even in winter, Dalaman can be reached several times per week through the big domestic airports of Istanbul, Ankara or Izmir.
The coastal hinterland is characterized by a variety of natural as well as artificial lakes. Dalaman is the new tourist center in Turkey, with a lot of spas and thermal hotels and a new marina and golf courses.
