Porto Torres: The town rises up on the coast of the Asinara gulf. This was an important centre during the time of the Roman Empire, then the capital of the Giudicato de Logudoro before Sassari.
From these ancient times, it still keeps the impressive ruins of the Roman thermal baths, called the « palais du roi barbare » built between the 3rd and 4th century AD and the remarkable church of S. Gavino built in Roman-pisan style.
Santa Teresa di Gallura: The little seaside town, founded in the middle of the19th century to eradicate smuggling between Sardinia and Corsica, became a sought-after holiday destination as from the sixties. It offers a magnificent view, taking in the Maddalena islands and the corsican coastline.
