At the beach; Holiday Park; Among nature
Sun, sand and sea!!
Alghero, at the north-west of the island, rich in history, with its many monuments, but also in craftsmanship, with its goldsmithery and workshops, especially for coral, with its dynamic night-life (lots of pubs) and fine, sandy beaches, is a peaceful and marvelous spot, one of the most gracious sea-side towns in Sardinia. While becoming more lively in the summer, the town however avoids the artificial atmosphere of so many resorts.
The resort's attractions:
- Fine sandy beaches, with beach activities
- Water sports
- Boat trips
Places to visit:
- At Alghero: the old town, of Catalan origin, with its Porta a Mare, the cathedral (of the 16th century), the Maison des Doria (Renaissance palace dating back to the Genoese domination), the church of San Francesco with its restful cloister, craft shops.
- The Neptune caves. Situated on Cap Caccia point, on the other side of the bay of Porto Conte
- The bay of Porto Conte (or the bay of Nymphes), now a nature reserve and doubtlessly the largest natural port of the Mediterranean. A calm, peaceful bay, ideal for swimming and under-water diving, especially in its fifty or so underwater caves.
