Winter sports; In the mountains; Among nature
In the past 20 years the Erzgebirge became more known among the mountains in the Czech Republic. In addition to the beautiful nature you can also find places here that are still deeply connected with the local history. At the same time the area meets the current expectations of tourists and all sorts of demanding travelers. Whether your preference is now for a relaxing or an active holiday with cycling, walking, swimming and / or winter sports, you will find everything you can think of here.
A few suggestions for summer and winter activities:
Directly from your villa you can explore the picturesque landscape with the various cycling and hiking trails, of varying lengths (about 200 km) and degrees of difficulty.
Popular destinations include Rýžovna (3 km) on the northern slope with the backdrop of the grazing herds of sheep and cows, a place to go to for homemade cheeses and local specialties. Plešivec (2 km) with a lookout tower and beautiful panoramic views of the three highest peaks of the Ore Mountains: Spicak, Fichtelberg and Klinovec. Well worth a visit are the Vlci Jamy (rock formations with mining facilities), the Mrtvy rybnik (the Dead lake), the marshes of Bozi Dar, the rocks of Holubí. What about the 11-km long canal named Blatensky kanal, that is like a historical landmark of the central Ore Mountains? You can take in the local history at the Horni Hrad castle, which arose from ruins and became the symbol of renewal in the Ore Mountains. The adrenaline sports enthusiasts can indulge themselves in the nearby sports center of Klinovec (13 km). This resort features a giant swing, a rope center for children and adults, a free fall facility from a height of 16 m, mountain steppers and quads. Swimming is possible in the indoor pool at Potucky (12 km), or outdoor in Ostrov (20 km), or in one of the famous spa towns like Karslbad (25 km) and Jachymov (15 km). Carlsbad offers in addition to the unique architecture also a great golf course.
A day trip to Prague (150 km) is also a great option. In short, the possibilities are simply endless here.
The winter sports lovers will never be bored here either. In the vicinity there are several ski resorts of varying degrees of difficulty, suitable for children, beginners and intermediate skiers. The nearest smaller ski resorts are in Abertamy (2 km) and in Pernink (6 km). The largest ski area in the Ore Mountains, Klínovec, is also not too far, thus you can enjoy within a distance of 13 km, some like 12 km of slopes (blue, red, black) with 4 chair lifts, 7 lifts, a snow park for snowboarders and a ski park for children. The ski schools, ski shuttle, ski rental place, apres ski and the ample parking here make it all even better. The ski resort of Bozi Dar - Neklid (12 km) has six runs and five lifts to offer. For cross-country skiers there are numerous possibilities as well. The well-maintained cross-country trails will have you enjoying the snowy landscape. The prices for ski passes are extremely affordable. After a day of skiing you can feast at one of the many restaurants, enjoy some typical Czech meals. In short, you need to just experience it all yourself!
